By taking this course, you’ll give your teen a working understanding of their own nervous system in language that respects their intelligence. You’ll learn what’s really driving the withdrawal, the irritability, and the screen overuse — and get practical tools to use in the middle of those moments, not just in hindsight. You’ll learn how nutrition, movement, sunlight and sleep affect their health and behavior. You’ll learn how to set limits without losing the relationship and how to be the parent your teen still needs even when they act like they don’t.
Parenting a teenager today is not what it was when you were one. Their world is more connected, more comparing, more overwhelming than anything any previous generation had to navigate. What that looks like at home is a kid who used to laugh with you now barely showing up. Who isolates in their room. Whose grades are slipping. Who reacts to everything you say like it’s an attack. The instinct, when you’re depleted, is to retreat too — give them space, hand them their phone, hope this phase passes. Those shortcuts are letting the gap grow wider. This course teaches you what’s actually happening in your teen’s brain and body, why so much of their behavior makes sense once you see it, and how to stay connected through years that traditionally pull families apart. This course pairs with The Regulated Parent. One is for you. The other is for staying close to your teen through the years that matter most.
