RUN FOR YOUR HEAD

Keep up with our friend Michael Kasper as he runs across the state of Illinois to raise funds to expand our program and bring awareness to mental health issues affecting 1 in 5 adults today.

Funds raised go toward providing services to area schools, first responders, medical professionals, and other key, high-stress groups in our area.

By empowering individual members of our community with tools to regulate their emotions, manage stress, empathize, and communicate effectively with others, we aim to create ripples within the community to cultivate a culture of empathy, healing, and understanding.

The Run

On October 16th, 2024, ultramarathon runner, author, and Danville historian Michael Kasper will begin his run across Illinois from Keokuk, Iowa to the Indiana border just east of Danville, traveling approximately 220 miles on foot over four days.

“On Wednesday, October 16th, I’m setting out on my most meaningful run yet. I’ll be running across the state of Illinois in an effort to raise funds to further the impact that’s already being made by a dear friend of mine through his business, It’s In Your Head.

It’s In Your Head provides comprehensive mental, emotional, social, and physical health support through evidence-based practices to empower people to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives. Through the power of the breath, and slowing of the mind, It’s in Your Head has already improved the lives of countless students and faculty right in our hometown.

I’ll be forever grateful for the positive impact they have made on my family, my friends, and myself, and I believe they’re capable of elevating the lives of anyone who is given the opportunity to listen.

That’s why I’m running roughly 220 miles in 4 days from Keokuk, Iowa to the Indiana border east of Danville — to provide opportunities for people to break free of the mental barriers keeping them from realizing their biggest dreams.”
